peer support offerings

provincial peer support worker training curriculum, peer support training, BC peer support training curriculum

The self-directed BC provincial peer support training is a great resource for small organizations that are unable to offer group trainings both over zoom or in-person.

However, not everyone is motivated to complete an online course.

Jenn Cusick wrote the training, and if you want to have a high quality training, consider hiring her to deliver your next peer support training.

Jenn has updated some of the modules in the curriculum. These updates aren’t integrated in the online training. Jenn has also developed learning tools that will enhance your team’s knowledge retention. You will get the most updated digital copy of the updated training when you hire Luminate.

Why work with Luminate?

Go right to the source for the highest quality training you can offer your staff. Jenn has three decades of experience working in peer support. All that experience is both integrated into the curriculum itself, and an in-person experience is even better! Jenn has been facilitating trainings and workshops since 2001.

Online (Zoom) Training
(THE MOST POPULAR OPTION)

Gathering on Zoom can be the most accessible option for some individuals and organizations. We are able to cover the training in smaller chunks, spread out over time so that it is more digestible. I have facilitated this in 16–4 hour sessions, however we can work with the timeframes you have available.

All participants who meet the completion criteria, will receive a completion certificate through Luminate Wellness.

In-Person Training

Now that things are opening up post-COVID, many organizations are able to offer in-person trainings and workshops. If you wish to offer this training to your staff, please contact Jenn to work out the details. We are able to facilitate this training anywhere in Canada or the USA. Depending on the location, the training may need to be a hybrid to accommodate travel needs.

All participants who meet the completion criteria, will receive a completion certificate through Luminate Wellness.

Facilitator Training

Jenn offers a basic facilitator training course that covers a whole range of facilitation skills needed for any kind of workshop or training delivery. This training is not specific to the peer support curriculum. It has application with any program. It is based on the core values of peer support.

This training rounded in the values of self-determination and interconnection.

Learn about:

  • Facilitating with a culturally humble, trauma-informed lens

  • Adult learning styles

  • Facilitation skills

  • How to develop and create a new workshop idea, including a facilitation plan

  • Feel equipped to deal with difficult situations when they come up

Jenn has created an extensive facilitation manual that you will receive, as well as other resources to support you as you facilitate trainings.

Cohort Learning (coming soon)

Not everyone learns well on their own. Engaging in dialogue with peers is an important part of the learning process. For people who aren’t able to access a group training, we will organize a cohort of people who you can connect with as you work through the material. A facilitator will also connect with your group regularly to support you with any that material in any way.

This option includes all the resources in the Independent Learner Support page.
There will be a member fee for this service.
