Music, movies, and art are the things that get my blood pumping and my heart smiling. They have played a huge hope building role in my life, especially in darker times.
One of my favourite things to do is to drive on the freeway with the windows rolled down, and great music blaring out of our not-too-fabulous 1992 Honda Accord speakers.
It's an absolute favourite wellness tool.
Last week I had the amazing opportunity to head to the big city to see one of my favourite bands live--Belle and Sebastian. We live an hour from the city. Plus, we have small children and a limited entertainment budget, so this was a really special treat.
As my husband, Dave, and I stood by our seats dancing to the music, I leaned over and said, "we are in good hands." I felt a sense of wellbeing wash over me. Ahhhhh...life is good.
I'm thankful for good music that makes me feel joy deep in the core of my soul.
Building wellness tools into my life is so very important. What gives you life?
Wellness tools are things we do to keep ourselves well, and the things we do to help ourselves feel better when we are not feeling well. Most of them are simple safe and free.
"Music can change the world because it can change people." - Bono
"I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music." - Billy Joel
